"I had no way of trying this on before buying it. I wear hats daily as I'm easing into the harvest years . Daytime it's usually a Billy or Mannes by Bailey or a stout Pork Pie, nights I usually wear a flatcap for the weather. I have no hats with a brim over 2", in fact the Bailey Mannes is for me perfect. I'd no idea how much a little over an inch mattered. The quality of this hat great, very consistent with my others. The fit was fine, especially for a new hat. The style was what wasn't right for me. For others this might be their favorite but on me it reminded me of Pennsylvania Dutch X Spy vs Spy. I'll stick to stingy brims and Trilbys."

"I bought the Thaler because it was on sale at a price that was difficult to pass up. The felt is a deep, pure black. It's nice and stylish. At full price, it's a really nice hat. At the sale price, it's pretty unbelievable. It inspired me to buy a $250 hat from Bailey, which isn't exactly something I do everyday (a model called Homerun, which is jaw-droppingly stunning and incredibly comfortable). The Thaler is a great hat."
